Basket Quilt - Almost a Flimsy!

I just wanted to give you a quick update on the basket quilt I talked about in my last post.
After working on the additional baskets in the evenings last week... and a road trip this past weekend, I was able to get the additional baskets finished - Yay!  I focused on greens, blues, yellow.. anything but red and peach, which I had plenty of!
Now I was on a roll to get the final baskets pieced into the quilt.
I pieced those last couple of rows together until all my basket blocks were used up!  What a sense of accomplishment - just what I needed!
Ta-DA!  My baskets were finally all pieced together.  I tried to get a good picture on the floor of the office.. no kitties around.. here was my chance!
I even laid it out on our bed for sizing and to figure out how wide the borders should be.  I am thinking of making a pieced border out of triangles.  Then a plain border to finish it off.
Anyone else out there currently working on this quilt?  I have seen several over the years.  It is from the book When the Cold Wind Blows by Blackbird Designs.
Lucy was unimpressed.. "Oh, you're working on that again..."

More later....  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Stitching,

Deb

  2. The quilt looks great! On another note, you have the most wonderful assortment of pincushions. I love to see them in the backgrounds of your photos. Eileen

  3. I made a small version of this quilt several years ago. Mine just has the setting triangles made from scraps. I love that book as well! And I think your kitty has the same attitude that mine does, too funny. :)
