A Very Special Day!

I have been having some computer problems posting to my blog, so this is a little late.  Sunday was a very special day because it was my birthday!  Yay!
This is what I woke up to on Sunday morning.  My dear husband decorated our family room with balloons and a banner.
Lucy was more interested in the balloons than the cards and gifts...
And of course the wrapping paper. :-)
On Saturday night we went to one of my favorite restaurants, a local Thai and Indonisian restaurant.
Yum!  I always order the Lombak Tilapia.  It is marinated with coriander and fennel, then grilled and served with tomato/basil/chili sweet soy chutney and accompanied with ginger yam puree.  Delicious!
On Sunday afternoon my husband took me to one of my favorite quilting stores, Pennington Quilt Works.  Sorry, I forgot to take pictures inside... but take my word for it , it's a phenomenal store.  Plus I had a 20% off birthday discount!
This shop was featured in this recent issue of Quilt Sampler.
Later in the day I spent some time sewing something FUN.  Aren't these stripey fish the cutest things?  I have been wanting to make these for awhile.. so I treated myself to some fun sewing time. (Hmmm isn't all sewing fun?)  More on these later! :-)
The birthday cards were the best!  Do you see a common cat theme here??  You'd think Lucy picked out some of these cards! LOL

Happy Stitching,

Deb

  9. Happy Birthday! And of course you told Lucy that she was enough of a birthday present for anyone. But a little extra is always nice. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the fun fish!
