RSC for May - Green - It's a Good Thing!

Green!  Fresh, renewal, growth, new life..... these are the things I think of when I think of green.  And that is how I am feeling!  I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I have had a chance to even look at a blog, never mind write one.  Work has been super busy, but now that I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from me (the project I have been working on is over)  and I can get back to my stitching and my blog friends. As Martha would say, "It's a Good Thing".
So, as I said, I have not had  a lot of time lately to do any stitching.  But on a recent trip to Philadelphia (I was not driving- LOL) I was able to get my green hexies made.
They now join the other hexies already done for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2015.  I am loving  how this table runner is coming along.  It's not all pieced yet.. but some of it is!
In other hexie news...... I have also been working on some larger hexagon paper piecing.
I am using primarily Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  They work beautifully with the large hexagons.
These hexies are 3" on each side.  Which means they are 6 inches at their widest point. I am making them with precut paper pieces for English paper piecing by Paper Pieces.  Lots of fun and very portable.
As I said, earlier this week I was in Philadelphia on a business trip.  Looks like Gracie wanted to come along.  She was a perfect fit in my suitcase! LOL
Even Lucy decided it was a good place to be once I was packed!

You don't have to pack your bags to head over to So Scrappy to check out all the other green creativity going on there!  Just sit back and enjoy the RSC 2015.

Happy Stitching!

Deb

  1. The rainbow hexies look luscious together. But all this green reminds me I need to get out and mow the grass. And while you have your cats packed, feel free to send me one!

  4. I'm feeling the hexie love, for sure! It's so much fun to see hexies made in big, bold prints! You've inspired me to try to get some prepped for a business trip I will be taking later this week.

  6. I think I love hexies more each time I see some! These are beautiful and will be super as a table runner.
Your large ones are a good size and as you say Kaffe collective fabrics seem to fit right in with these.

  7. Your hexes are lovely, especially the way you have laid them out! And kitties on suitcases..... My screensaver picture is of my late Boomer sitting on my packed suitcase (also for a business trip), with his “Don’t go, Mom!” expression. We love our fur babies, don’t we?

  12. Oh, love the hexies! I made a lap quilt with the larger hexies and I just love it. (It doesn't take as many hexies for a quilt either!)
